There are small differences we can make in our weekly supermarket shop which don’t take extra planning or effort. Make these changes now and chip away at the plastic problem!
Tinfoil can be washed and recycled or reused. Much better than cling film which cannot be recycled. Cans are recycled in a “close recycling loop” meaning that when you send them for recycling, new cans of the same quality can be made. This is much better than pouches! While we’re at it, also refuse the (non recyclable) plastic covering on packs of tins and opt for purchasing individually instead. Buy glass or cans for your beverages. Go old fashioned and use a bar of soap! Try and find soap in non-plastic wrapping for maximum gains! Glass beats plastic – every time. Get your fruit and veg loose!

Tin foil takes a massive amount of energy to produce and it’s aluminium, which is a precious resource. Better to go back to using a plate on top of bowls in the fridge, or a reuseable tupperware, or greaseproof paper or a plastic bag which can be washed and reused many times then recycled.
I do agree Kate, plates on bowls are better than either option!
